Mubert × Jellyworkz
Native iOS and Android clients for an AI music platform — built from scratch, kept in production for seven years, featured by Apple in 170+ countries.
The challenge
Mubert generates music in real time from human-made samples — an endless stream that never repeats. It needed native iOS and Android clients that could play a live generative stream reliably in the background, send likes and dislikes back to shape it, and keep up with a product that kept adding stations, subscriptions and creator features.
What we built
Native apps for both platforms on top of Mubert’s generative engine: a stream player with background playback and stations by genre, mood and activity; like and dislike controls that shape the stream; playlists and favourites; a one-minute track flow with save and share; animated visual streams; subscriptions and in-app purchases; onboarding, push notifications and analytics. After launch we kept both clients shipping — yearly OS and SDK upgrades, Xcode and Apple Silicon migrations, crash monitoring, store-policy compliance, localisation and release management on the App Store and Google Play.
Outcome
Apple featured Mubert as App of the Day in more than 170 countries, including the US front page in November 2019 (“Mubert creates cool generative music — and looks good doing it”), and Google Play shortlisted it as a User Choice App of the Year 2019 finalist. The Android app passed one million installs, and both clients are still live on the stores.
